Averages a just a mathmatical calculation stewie
Anyone can judge the innings making up those numbers as they will based on conditions , importance of match etc
Tomorrow would be a good day for those two to improve those averages.

Developing into an interesting Test match in SL
Rain/bad light has curtailed every day but there is enough time for a result.
SL should win , an Aust win is unlikely and a draw is probably second favourite
Lots of talk pre match about strategies and playing in subcontinent conditions but no sign of that actually filtering through to performance by the Aust batsmen.

Watching the highlights. Quit odd. It's not turned as much as I thought, and done little for the seamers yet barring 1 brilliant innings SL would be on their way to defeat.
Fantastic tantrum by SS on a rejected LBW appeal. The batsman plays no stroke to a ball landing on off stump and clearly turning to slip and missing, and the bloke goes nuts.
Head shakes, thigh slapping.......poor for a serial offender.

It would seem Vince can't resist a waft outside off stump. He seems to get good starts, but certainly doesn't have the patience to leave the ball that JR has.
The commentary guys refer to Vince and pretty innings of 30-40, but there's always those dicey flails at a wide one, which becomes 'only a matter of time'.
Cook looked far better outside off stump this game too. At Lord's he looked very shaky.

I could understand Ballance, being given another go. After all, wasn't so long ago that Root and Bairstow were dropped.They came back massively better players, but it doesn't seem that Ballance has, or will.
Vince, just doesn't seem to have it and Hales is being found out by half decent bowling.
